Updated Rules & Regulations effective August 1, 2026

We have updated the WLYH Rules and Regulations effective August 1, 2026.

The changes were approved by the WLYH Board of Directors on July 14, 2026 and approved by the WA Airstream Club Board of Trustees on July 21, 2026. These rule changes were proposed after several months of work by an ad hoc committee of Board members and lessees, which consisted of Lance Zielinski, Seanna Sams, Cathy Powell, Steve Galfano, Jeff Vannice, and Brian Welcker. Thanks to everyone on the committee for their thoughtful input.

You can find the new rules on the Documents page in the member portal. This is also where you can find updated versions of the Long-term guest and Caregiver application forms. If you would like to see a list of all changes to the Rules & Regulations, you can view the change log.

The following rules were updated in the latest version:

4.9.5. Long-Term Guests
Any person wishing to reside in a lessee’s home for more than the maximum of 30 days in any given calendar year is considered a long-term guest. Lessees may have at most two (2) long-term guests at any time. Long-term guests may not reside in an RV on a lessee’s primary or secondary lot or in a dwelling on a lessee’s secondary lot. Long-term guests may stay for a maximum of six (6) months and must submit an application to the WLYH Board before the end of the 30 day guest limit. Lessees can obtain a long-term guest application form from the Gatehouse. The application requires submission of a background check for all guests over the age of 18. Addition of a long-term guest must not cause the dwelling to exceed the limits of the number of bedrooms or the septic system (see Dwelling Limits). Those persons who are not approved will be notified that they cannot stay in the home or on the lot beyond the 30 day limit. If approved, long-term guests must depart on or before the end date specified in their application. If a long-term guest would like to extend their stay for a maximum of six (6) additional months, they must submit a new application before their scheduled departure date. Violation of these terms will be considered trespass.

4.10. Caregivers
There can only be one live-in caregiver at a time. Caregivers may be any person over eighteen years of age who is providing live-in home health care to the lessee under an approved plan of treatment ordered by the lessee’s health care provider. Caregivers must be registered at the WLYH Gatehouse. All caregivers must coordinate with the WLYH Gatehouse to submit a WLYH background check at the Lessee’s own cost before beginning residency in the WLYH. Those caregivers who do not submit or pass the background check will be notified that they cannot reside in the WLYH. Violation of these terms will be considered trespass. If the lessee requiring care moves or passes away, any live-in caregiver must vacate the premises within 30 days. Caregivers must comply with the Rules and Regulations while they reside in the WLYH.
