Sometimes you need a break from cooking in your Airstream. When it comes to dining out near the Washington Land Yacht Harbor, you’ve got options. We managed to narrow down a list of 13 of our favorite Thurston County restaurants nearby WLYH and just a little further afield.
Near WLYH
Curry Corner: In an unassuming location, this restaurant is known for the best Indian food in the area. Their butter chicken is not to be missed! They currently offer takeout orders only.
Mayan Mexican Restaurants: With two locations easily accessible from WLYH, Mayan Mexican Restaurants offer great Mexican food and a friendly atmosphere that’s comfortable for families, couples, and individuals.
German Diner: If you’re hankering for a bratwurst or some schnitzel, you’re in luck. German Diner, an authentic eatery and bakery, offers friendly service in a cozy atmosphere at reasonable prices. Check their Facebook page for lunch specials!
Bacco Trattoria Italiana: For terrific Italian food, look no further than Bacco Trattoria. We highly recommend the house-made gnocchi (potato dumplings). Chef Riccardo Simeone brings flavors of his hometown in Italy to within about five minutes of WLYH! Reservations are strongly recommended.
L&L Hawaiian Barbecue: We feel lucky to have an outpost of L&L Hawaiian Barbecue so close to WLYH (1350 Marvin Road). We are especially fond of their Kahlua Pork. They do have a small seating area at this location, but they predominantly fill takeout orders.
Worth a Short Drive
Budd Bay Café: This longtime locally-owned restaurant is a favorite among locals. A short drive to downtown Olympia offers scenic views of Budd Inlet and the Capital building. Budd Bay offers excellent seafood and beautiful outdoor dining when the weather permits.
Ricardo’s Kitchen + Bar: This upscale steakhouse is located in the heart of Lacey. Their appetizer menu is superb. They have outside dining available as well. Reservations are strongly recommended.
Anthony’s Homeport & Anthony’s Hearthfire Grill: Experience a northwest institution! Known for seafood, Anthony’s Homeport and Anthony’s Hearthfire in Olympia offer scenic views of Budd Inlet. Two separate but nearby locations offer slightly different atmospheres. Don’t miss the sunset dinner specials at either location.
Chelsea Farms Oyster Bar: This is the spot for fresh oysters any way you want them. Enjoy a chic setting and a refined dinner menu, right in downtown Olympia.
Pizzeria La Gitana: When you need pizza, head to downtown Olympia’s historic district for a stop at Pizzeria La Gitana. Their gourmet pizza and slightly upscale atmosphere never disappoint us!
Falls Terrace Restaurant: Tucked away in Tumwater, this longtime local staple offers beautiful views of the Deschutes River along with a family-friendly atmosphere and wonderful food. Note that at the time of this publication, Falls Terrace Restaurant is temporarily closed. Check their website for updates. We hope they open soon!
